Now in its 19th year, the Queensland Greats Awards recognises the efforts and achievements of remarkable individuals and institutions for their invaluable contribution to the history and development of our great state.

Nominations are open across three categories:

  • individual
  • institution
  • posthumous.

A total of 90 individuals, 14 institutions and four posthumous recipients have now been honoured as Queensland Greats.  Past recipients include equality activist Gail Ker OAM, humanitarian scientist Distinguished Professor James Dale AO FTSE, rugby league legend Wally Lewis AM, the Queensland State Emergency Service and equality activist the late Eddie Koiki Mabo.

Do you know a remarkable Queenslander or Queensland institution who can be recognised for their long-term dedication to Queensland? It could be a friend, family member, colleague or a local community organisation.

Nominations close 5 pm, Friday 22 February 2019.
The 2019 Queensland Greats will be announced at a ceremony in Brisbane on or around Queensland Day, 6 June 2019.
