Lutheran Services – COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements: Booster Dose

By May 22, 2022No Comments2 min read

Dear Lutheran Services visiting health professional and contractors,

(COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements) Direction (No. 4).

This letter is to provide a reminder about the latest Queensland Government Direction regarding health care professionals and contractors working in aged care services.

On Saturday 12 March 2022 the Queensland Chief Health Officer issued a new direction – Workers in a healthcare setting (COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements) Direction (No. 4).

This direction mandates that from 31 March 2022, workers who attend a residential aged care facility (whether as an employee, contractor, agency staff, medical professional or allied health professional) must be able to show proof that they have an up-to-date vaccination status.

Currently up-to-date vaccination status means the worker has received a COVID-19 vaccine booster dose during the period from 3 to 6 months after their second COVID-19 vaccination.

What this means for you

Any health professional or contractor attending one of our aged care services will need to show proof of having an up-to-date vaccination status. The easiest ways to do this are to:

  • have the Medicare app on your smartphone;
  • download and print a copy of your vaccination certificate from the Medicare section of MyGov website; or
  • take a screen shot of your vaccination certificate from the Medicare section of the MyGov
    website.

Rapid Antigen Testing

Whilst not mandated, in the interest of our residents and staff, we also request you complete a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) in the 72 hours before entering any of the residential aged care buildings. For this
purpose, we will provide RAT kits at reception.

The health and safety of our residents, staff and families is paramount, and we thank you in advance for your cooperation and support.
