SUMMARY:EOI – Suicide Prevention Capacity Building Program
DESCRIPTION:Black Dog Institute is delivering a Suicide Prevention Capacity Building Program in the Kingaroy region between February and May 2023. \nFunded by the Department of Health\, the program consists of 6 evidence-based workshops\, which will be guided by the area’s needs and current approaches to suicide prevention. \nThe intent of this program is to strengthen collaboration\, co-ordination\, and visibility of these activities. From this\, we aim to support the establishment of a community collaborative to implement local suicide prevention activities. \nWe understand there is a suicide prevention network in the region currently and we encouraged people part of this group to apply. Additionally\, we know there are many people who are working hard to reduce the rates of suicide and we are wanting to engage representatives from across the region including the Local Health Network\, service providers\, health professionals\, school counsellors\, clinicians\, local businesses\, volunteer action groups\, first nations people\, first responders\, community members and welcome individuals with a lived experience. \nParticipation in the program is free\, and we ask that you commit to attending all 4 of the 2–3-hour workshops. Workshop dates: 16/2\, 16/3\, 20/4\, 18/5. If you are unavailable at these times\, don’t worry as this does not preclude you from joining the broader collaborative once the program is completed. \nSpaces are limited so please email your expression of interest to kirsten@sbctc.com.au by close of business 13/1/2023. \nDownload flyer.

DESCRIPTION:Kingaroy Cruisers Pizza & Wine  at Kingsley Grove fundraiser for MS on Saturday 29th April 2023 from 5.30pm to 9.30pm. \nJoin Kingaroy Cruisers for a lovely autumn evening at Kingsley Grove Estate with live entertainment\, wood fired pizza\, local wine and other beverages including shared entrees and a main meal of pizza and salad and featuring a silent auction all in aid of Kingaroy Cruisers fundraising for MS Brissie to the Bay Bike Ride raising funds for Queenslanders living with Multiple Sclerosis. \nTicket price includes a free shuttle bus from Glendon Street Kingaroy Bus Stop leaving at 5pm and returning from the venue at the end of the function at 9.30pm or patrons can self-drive . Ticket price includes tea\, coffee and water. Softdrinks\, wine\, beer and spirits can be purchased on the night. Please advise special dietary requirements and if utilising the free shuttle bus at time of booking or contact the event organiser. \nCost: Adults & children over 12 – $50.00 plus booking fee\, Children 6-12 years – $20.00 & children under 6 years – free. \nTickets are available on Eventbrite – Get Tickets
