SUMMARY:SMILE Program: NICL Training
DESCRIPTION:The KCCI has engaged Bunyarra Counselling and Mediation after seeing a video on social media about their NICL program. Michael Sanford and Narelle Sanford from Bunyarra developed the NICL program after noticing the ever-growing need for early intervention around people’s mental health and it was a great fit for the what the KCCI is trying to achieve. The program had already been implemented into some large corporations with great success. \nThe S.M.I.L.E initiative is aimed at businesses to create awareness around mental wellbeing in the workplace as well as ensuring business owners/managers are supported too. \nIf a business in the region is the member of the KCCI\, we will fund 2 people from that business to do the NICL training. We hope future funding applications will allow us to roll this training out to more staff and more businesses across the region. Alternatively\, businesses can engage Bunyarra\nCounselling and Mediation themselves to deliver the NICL training. \nKCCI would like to see all businesses no matter how large or small to engage with any of the service providers we have in our region to discuss their options around mental wellbeing in the workplace. We will have a list of providers on our website in the coming weeks. \nWhen:\nMonday 16 August\nMonday 6 September\nMonday 20 September \nTime:\n5:30pm – 7:30pm \nWhere:\nANZAC room\nKingaroy RSL \nDownload flyer. \nEmail your interest to info@kcci.asn.au with preferred date and names of attendees. \n

SUMMARY:CANCELLED: 2021 Baconfest
DESCRIPTION:Baconfest 2021 has been cancelled. \nBaconfest 2019 attracted around 15\,000 visitors to our area and we want your businesses to get involved and make Kingaroy a pigtastic affair. \n  \nOur story \nThe idea for a BaconFest came to our first Chief Baconeer Kathryn Stevens one night while doing the washing up. This light bulb moment was discussed at length over coffee and wine and slowly but surely began to gain some momentum.  Before long\, an impressive team of enthusiastic and bacon-loving volunteers had signed up to the cause and committed themselves to delivering a weekend-long celebration of the pig. These creative individuals are passionate about the South Burnett region and committed to using their professional skills and talents to give back to the community by delivering a truly delicious event. \nVisit the Baconfest website for more information.
