Over the past 24 hours KCCI have been in discussions with Mark Pitt, CEO South Burnett Regional council and appropriate managers in relation to fees and charges to different industries throughout our region.
We have been doing this to help reduce the amount of expenditure for business in our community during the COVID-19 pandemic.
While there are no current cases in our region at this time, restrictions from State and Federal Government’s still apply. These restrictions are taking a heavy financial toll on many industries and any relief from fees and charges will be very much appreciated.
Council has indicated that they will continue to work on a plan in this space but cannot make any further decision until Monday 30th of March due to Local Government Elections.
Rest assured the Kingaroy Chamber of Commerce and Industry will fight for our members and the wider community to ease the financial pain during these uncertain times.
