We are excited to advise that Local Buy (http://www.localbuy.net.au/) is undertaking a number of initiatives to actively help local businesses struggling under COVID-19 conditions and set them up to access opportunities (public and private) as our local economy is kickstarted. Firstly Local Buy has committed to a mass refresh of supplier panels, opening them up for new supplier registrations. A simplified process and helpdesk have been set up to assist local businesses to navigate the panel tender process.
This opportunity is for local suppliers to become preferred and pre-qualified suppliers to local government predominately, but also for other State authorities, not-for-profit and private sector entities also have access to purchase goods and services via these panels. These panels open for new suppliers once every 12months or so generally and have been developed to help Local Government to purchase from their local suppliers.
Local Buy is committed to providing these opportunities to all local businesses in your region via multiple channels and needs your help in reaching local suppliers in your area. The below link will take suppliers to a site dedicated to the refresh. This link is able to be distributed to all suppliers as it explains the opportunities for new and existing Local Buy suppliers.

Secondly, we are also excited to announce that in addition to our Local Buy “Grow Local” initiative, which waivers the first year’s administration fee for all new suppliers, we have launched our “Small & Regional Business’ Support Package”. This is a specific program for a small and regional business who have been hardest hit. The program will credit back all rebates for the first quarter of the 2021 financial year for eligible businesses. All of the information and the application process can be found here.
