The Queensland Government’s new Check In Qld app is now being rolled out across the state following yesterday’s official launch.
The new, free, check-in app makes it easier for Queensland’s hospitality businesses and their customers to stay COVID Safe.
After a successful pilot involving more than 200 businesses and more than 29,000 customers from Cairns to the Gold Coast, the app is now available to help more local hospitality businesses to be COVID-safe with fast, safe and convenient contact tracing.
Thank you for your support and the involvement of local businesses in the trial phase.
I encourage you to continue to promote the free app as a way of simplifying compliance for licenced venues, cafes and other hospitality sector businesses and their customers.
While the Check In Qld App is not mandatory, businesses and venues statewide are being strongly encouraged to register to use the app online.
We are aiming for as many businesses as possible to sign up to the safe and consistent check-in app.
A benefit of using the app is that businesses do not need to collect or manage customer information.
The data entered into each customer’s app will be stored securely by the Queensland Government and will help to ensure it is readily available to contact tracers if required. The data can help quickly identify anyone exposed to COVID-19.
Businesses can register online and download a resource kit of promotional materials, which can be customised to suit each business.
The kit includes a unique Check In Qld QR code poster, images for websites and social media marketing, along with messages for newsletters, emails, fact sheets and flyers.
