Community Health Precinct Project – Kingaroy

The project’s scope entails the establishment of a comprehensive healthcare facility, including a modern aged-care facility, relocation and expansion of the existing Lady Bjelke Community hospital, and the expansion of GP and allied health services. The new precinct will enhance healthcare accessibility and improve the region’s capacity to meet growing demand for a variety of healthcare services. Construction will expand and improve existing facilities,
provide an integrated day hospital and 300 room aged care facility supported by healthcare services.
A key focus is on training and skill development to attract and retain workers to the region.

MEDIA RELEASE: Advisory Council giving small business a say
The Queensland Small Business Advisory Council (QSBAC) is encouraging small business owners to have their say. The Advisory Council is looking for up to ten small business owners to advise the Miles Government on growing small businesses in Queensland.

The QSBAC was reinvigorated in 2021, delivering on a Queensland Labor Government election commitment and the $140 million Big Plans for Small Business Strategy.

The Queensland Small Business Advisory Council is looking for regional small business owners with diverse backgrounds from various industries to join the Council. Chaired by Small Business Minister Lance McCallum, the Council includes the Small Business Commissioner, Business Chamber Queensland and up to ten small business owners. Terms of current members of the Advisory Council expire at the end of March.

The Miles Government’s Big Plans for Small Business Strategy is investing almost $27.9 million this year in grants and one-on-one support like the Small Business Wellness initiative. 

Small Business Minister Lance McCallum says:
“Small business is the engine room of the Queensland economy with more than 473,000 enterprises representing just over 97 per cent of all businesses in the state.
“We are a government that listens to Queenslanders, and the Ministerial Advisory Council is a critical forum where small business owners from around Queensland can share their skills, experience and knowledge directly with the Miles Government.
“It’s imperative that the Advisory Council is an active voice for helping small business to thrive and create more good local jobs for Queenslanders.“I would like to thank the current members of the Council for their hard work and valuable contributions during their tenure.”
