The Commonwealth Government has commended the leadership of Regional Development Australia Wide Bay Burnett (RDA WBB) in supporting the economic and community response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Assistant Minister for Regional Development and Territories Nola Marino said that RDA Wide Bay Burnett’s engagement with their community, business and all levels of government had been vital in identifying emerging issues throughout the crisis and opportunities for the recovery phase.
Since late March, the Assistant Minister has been holding regular teleconferences with RDA to seek regional intelligence and promote the stimulus packages introduced by government.

“These conversations provided firsthand insights into how the local communities are coping, and the impact and effectiveness of Government response measures. This local intelligence is provided directly to Government Ministers and agencies to inform policy making,” Assistant Minister Marino said.
