Lutheran Services – Letter to suppliers

By October 14, 2020No Comments3 min read

In relation to anyone visiting our Aged Care sites,  please refer to the attached and pass onto anyone that would need to be made aware of this QLD Government Aged Care Direction.

Download letter.

Dear Lutheran Services contractor / supplier

This letter is to advise you of the latest Queensland Government Aged Care Direction regarding visitors to aged care services.

The latest direction – Number 10 – has a new requirement for residential aged care facility operators to:

Take reasonable steps to ensure employees, contractors who have contact with residents, volunteers and students undergo face to face infection control and PPE training.

What we will need from you

Any contractor or supplier attending one of our aged care services who will come into contact with residents during their work will need to confirm that they have received face to face infection control and PPE training. This will be done by signing the health declaration at reception.

Providers of multiple services to Lutheran Services aged care facilities are also invited to provide a letter outlining their commitment to delivering this training to their staff.

Where provision of this training may be difficult for smaller providers please alert us before your attendance at site so that we can assess training requirements and deliver training as required at your sign in.

Please also remember that all contractors and suppliers who work across multiple health care settings and/or aged care services must wear a single use surgical mask while on site.

As per the current procedure all contractors, staff and visitors will be health screened, required to sign a health declaration and required to have had an influenza vaccination. Social distancing, hand hygiene and infection control practices will continue to be a requirement throughout your attendance at the facility.

Updates

Ensuring business continuity is a critical element of our planning and we will continue to keep you up to date.

For updates at any time, please visit our website: www.lutheranservices.org.au/covid or contact your contract manager.

Thank you

Please note, there are currently no suspected or confirmed COVID-19 cases in Lutheran Services aged care sites, and with your assistance we will prevent the infection from affecting the most vulnerable Australians in our care.

The health and safety of our residents, staff, families and suppliers are paramount, and we thank you in advance for your cooperation and support.
