The Kingaroy Chamber of Commerce and Industry invite all business owners and industry leaders from across the South Burnett to join its members at a business breakfast on Thursday 5 November at the Kingaroy Town Hall, with doors opening from 6:30 am for a 7:00 am start to 9.00am.
KCCI President, Damien Martoo said the breakfast aims to bring the strength of the South Burnett’s business community together to think about the change our region would like to see and be a part of into the future.
Guest speaker, Gympie Chamber of Commerce President Tony Goodman will share how he has led the business community, advocating with all levels of government, to pursue the goals and aspirations of Gympie’s business community.
“The Gympie Chamber is fiercely independent, and we look forward to learning more about the change they’ve influenced, and their continued advocacy with council and their state and federal members”, said Damien.
“This is the start of many conversations, KCCI are planning into the new year, about shaping our future together, and taking advantage of the tree change opportunities brought by the COVID pandemic” he said.
The breakfast will be emceed by South Burnett Regional Council’s Economic Development portfolio holder, Cr Kirstie Schumacher who said she is passionate about empowering our business community and industry leaders to inspire and support the change we all want to see.
“We all work, live and play in an amazing region, and I believe there are many incredible opportunities on our doorstep, ready for the taking,” Cr Schumacher said.
“For me, this breakfast is about unity, standing together as a region and daring to think big and starting a new conversation, collectively recognising our potential not for tomorrow, but for today.
“The world is shifting and I applaud the KCCI for bringing everyone together with a view to grow the pie, not just the slice,” she said.
Guest speakers, Tony Goodman operates Bella Casa Gympie which is a large furniture, homewares and gifts store situated in Mary St.
He is passionate about Gympie and instigated late night shopping events, combined with four major street festivals in Mary Street that attracts crowds up to 5,000 people.
Tony feels his greatest strength is persistence and he sees the Gympie Chamber of Commerce as a great vehicle to network and advocate for meaningful and lasting change.
“Tony is currently working with the Gympie business community to re-design Gympie’s approach to its economic development strategy and I welcome the opportunity to learn from the experiences of our neighbouring region”, Cr Schumacher said.
“Be sure to grab your ticket early, this one will sell out fast”, said KCCI President Damien Martoo.
“Saucy Fork Chef, Roberta Schablon will be creating breakfast from a selection of locavore ingredients from the South Burnett and neighbouring regions”, Damien said.
“Roberta has been working with producers with a passion and vision to bring the Farm to Fork, locavore movement a reality in the South Burnett.
“We look forward to her sharing some of her story with us at the breakfast”, he said.
Tickets are $35 per person. Due to COVID-19 guidelines we are limited to 100 guests.
